Position and Role

Full-Time Commercial Loan Assistant at our Rexburg, Idaho Administration Building. This position works 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, with Saturday hours as needed. The expected pay is $_____ per hour, DOE. Provides support to the commercial lending team by processing and administering commercial loans.

Job Description

• Performs due diligence and information gathering during the underwriting phase (pulling personal and business credit reports, flood searches, ordering appraisals, ordering title insurance, etc).
• Prepares and reviews loan documentation.
• Creates loan files ensuring all necessary documents are in the file.
• Ensures accuracy and proper tracking for key information such as flood insurance, property tax, insurance, UCC's, etc. Reviews loan files to ensure the completeness of the file, and that all collateral has been properly secured.
• Boards loans onto the system and funds the loans after verifying that all pre-closing conditions have been met.
• Scans files and creates document exceptions for any missing required documents.
• Reviews commercial account activity and issues on a regular basis with Loan Officer.
• Interacts with auditors, examiners, compliance team, and legal team to assist in credit union reviews and examinations.
• Works with participant credit unions in arranging for funding on loans sold or purchased.
• Answers calls from members regarding questions, advances, or transfers of business accounts.
• Will actively engage in needs-based selling.

Qualifications and Skills

• One to three years of similar or related experience.
• High school education or GED.
• Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
• Ability to use industry software.

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
