We are seeking a full-time IT Network Technician to work at our Administration Branch in Rexburg, Idaho. This position will work 40 hours, Monday-Friday, with Saturday hours as needed. The expected pay is $_____ per hour, DOE. The IT Network Technician will assist in managing the company's IT and network resources, recommend IT and network hardware and software purchases, provide technical assistance, and assist with future upgrades.
Essential Function & Responsibilities:
- Assists with LAN management including user access rights, definition and maintenance of network services, troubleshooting, etc.; assists in developing network standards and conventions, configuring network software, etc.
- Assists in managing all levels of the desktop: provides troubleshooting and resource management assistance to internal personnel and members in the areas of networks, PCs, printers, peripheral hardware products, and PC operating systems; provides informal training and guidelines to memory management, network client installation and configuration, printer setup and configuration, Windows tuning, software installation, PIFs development, backing up servers and PCs.
- Maintains and updates documentation of all upgrades, repairs, and other network related functions.
- Assists in the development and application of internal standards and controls for PCs, including software and hardware inventories, software library, installation records, user procedures and policies manual, and IT control policies.
- Will actively engage in needs-based selling.
Qualifications
- One to three years of practical experience in technology, information systems, or related fields.
- (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
- Must be able to work and travel independently and use general office equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of PC hardware, operating systems, and printers.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Broad knowledge of functions of the company and evolving desktop processing needs of departments and individual users.
- General knowledge of PC networks and network operating systems.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels of technical proficiency.
- Must be able to work and travel independently and use general office equipment.
Physical Requirements
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
