The Information Security Admin provides technical support to the department and organization in the area of information security; coordinates projects; makes recommendations; and manages the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company information, resources, systems, and member data. This position will work 40 hours, Monday-Friday, with Saturday hours as needed. The expected pay is $_____ DOE.

Job Description

  • Administers and support Credit Union cyber security including: user access control; network vulnerability monitoring; remediating current and potential cyber threats; implementing patch management; and providing recommendations for innovations to increase protection of Credit Union assets and data.
  • Coordinates, recommends, applies, and monitors database, network, system, and user access controls.
  • Administers and supports Credit Union network infrastructure including: maintenance of servers, switches, and cabling; recommend improvements and innovations; and coordinate projects for upgrades, new software, and research.
  • Assists in the development and application of internal standards and controls for PCs, including software and hardware inventories, software library, installation records, user procedures and policies manual, and I.S. control policies.
  • Researches, recommends, and supports system and network tools necessary to provide a secure and flexible platform for production applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and performs all duties in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act. Works at or attends community events as assigned. Strives in all that they do to enhance the member experience at BFCU, including actively engaging in needs-based cross-servicing.

Qualifications

  • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
  • (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
  • Extensive knowledge of PC hardware, operating systems, and printers.
  • Broad knowledge of functions of the credit union and evolving desktop processing needs of departments and individual users.
  • General knowledge of PC networks and network operating systems.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels of technical proficiency.
  • Must be able to work and travel independently and use general office equipment.

Physical Requirements

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
