Beehive Federal Credit Union is seeking a full-time Mortgage Loan Underwriter to work at our main office in Rexburg, Idaho. This position will work 40 hours, Monday-Friday, with Saturday hours as needed. The expected pay is $_____ per hour, DOE.

Job Description

The Mortgage Loan Underwriter approves or denies mortgage loans following Credit Union standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviews and evaluates information on mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property, and loan conditions meet Credit Union and government standards. Evaluates acceptability of loan to corporation that buys real estate loans on secondary mortgage markets (where existing mortgages are bought and sold by investors.)
• Responsible for files through underwriting, closing, and funding. This includes document drawing and assigning loan information to secondary market within 60 days.
• Approves or rejects loan application or requests additional information; draws documents on all secondary loans.
• Funds and prepares for audit on all secondary loans.
• Delivers notes and deeds to lender within required time frame.
• Will actively engage in needs-based selling.

Job Requirements

Two to five years of similar or related experience.

Two year college degree or specialized course of study at a business or trade school are preferred but experience demonstrating leadership skills and ability to achieve goals are more important.

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
