Beehive Federal Credit Union is seeking a President/CEO to direct the overall operations of the Credit Union with the objective of ensuring financial stability commensurate with the best interests of the members; establish short-term and long-range objectives, plans, and policies subject to the approval of the Board of Directors; and represent the Credit Union within the community
Major Job-Related Duties
- Develops the basic objectives, policies, and operating plans of the Credit Union; submits these to the Board of Directors for approval.
- Ensures that adequate plans for future development and growth of the business are prepared, and participates in this preparation; periodically presents such plans for general review and approval by the Board of Directors.
- Meets with and leads the efforts of the Executive Management Team and other subordinates to (1) ensure efficient and effective operations, and (2) focus on and accomplishment of strategic objectives and effective operations, and a member-centric culture.
- Prescribes the specific limitations of the authority of subordinates regarding policies, contractual commitments, expenditures, and personnel actions. Reviews and approves the appointment, employment, transfer, or termination of all key employees. Resolves any conflicts arising between operating groups, staff units, and other elements under immediate supervision.
- Analyzes operating results of the Credit Union relative to established objectives and ensures appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
- Represents the Credit Union as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organization(s), major suppliers, competitors, government agencies, other financial institutions, professional societies, and similar groups.
- Assures that the Credit Union's policies are uniformly understood and properly interpreted and administered by subordinates.
- Presents proposed operating and capital expenditure budgets for review and approval by the Board of Directors.
- Plans and directs all investigations and negotiations pertaining to mergers, joint ventures, acquisitions, or the sale of major Credit Union assets.
- Will actively engage in needs-based selling.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least ten years of similar or related experience preferred.
- (1) A business-related bachelor's degree (MBA Preferred), or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
- Work involves extensive personal contact with members of the Board of Directors, community leaders, business leaders, internal managers, and employees. Motivating others or getting them to do things that they might not do otherwise is a key to success for incumbents in this position. External contacts are vital--not only for the success of the position, but the success of the company overall.
- Extensive knowledge of credit union philosophy, laws, regulations, policies and procedures. General knowledge of lending, investments, marketing, human resource
management, accounting, information technology, economics, organizational and operational principles.
